Social Innovations for Sustainable Regional Development, Klaipeda University (2024) Stavros Parlalis, Natalie Loizidou Ieridou, Alexandros Argyriadis, Louiza Ioannidou, Erotocritou Koulla, Ioannis Dimitrakopoulos, Presentation entitled “Public Health Policies using driving simulator: the case of LSC in the Republic of Cyprus”.
Communities nowadays face various security challenges, ranging from physical threats like crime, violence, and natural disasters to digital dangers such as cyber attacks and identity theft. To address these challenges effectively, holistic approaches that prioritize community engagement, resource allocation, and proactive risk mitigation strategies are crucial. Through our presentation we focused on how the establishment of the new Laboratory of Safety in the Community could enhance new research activities in various areas around safe mobility and promote public health in general.11th International Conference on Transport Research - #ICTR2023
The Laboratory of Safety in the Community (LSC) of Frederick University made its first presentation at the 11th International Conference on Transport Research - #ICTR2023, which was co-organized by the Greek Association of Transport Researchers (FES) and the Institute of Sustainable Mobility and Transport Networks (IMET/ECETA), in Heraklion, Crete, between 20-22 September 2023, with the main theme: "Clean and Accessible Multimodal Transport for All". The Conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Tourism, the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, the Municipality of Heraklion and the Technical Chamber of Greece and was attended by more than 200 participants from Greece and abroad.
The Laboratory of Safety in the Community (LSC) of Frederick University was represented by its Coordinator Associate Professor Dr. Stavros K. Parlalis, who participated with a presentation entitled "Juvenile offenders of traffic law in Cyprus. Current situation and interventions". The presentation was part of the symposium organized by the Health and Road Safety Laboratory of the Hellenic Mediterranean University.
